Edna Auma Obote
Age: 17 years (Freshman Technical College)

Partial orphan living with her mother, Hileda, a volunteer caretaker and cook and Dago Dela Hera Orphanage. Edna is a very outgoing girl who spoke excellent English and her favorite subjects in school are English and science.  Edna would like to be a flight attendant and travel around the world when she’s older.  During her spare times Edna loves to read novels and play volleyball with her friends.

Evans Odhiambo Opondo
Age: 17 years (Graduated 2013)

Total orphan living with his grandmother, Mama Maria, a volunteer caretaker and cook and Dago Dela Hera Orphanage. Brother to Kevin Odiwuor and Night Auma. Evans is the first born in his family. He is a very bright boy who is not shy in speaking English. Favorite subjects science, math and English. When not herding the grandmother’s cattle’s, he likes to play football with his friends.  Evans dreams of becoming a pilot when he grows up.

Quinter Awuor Otieno
Age: 16 years (11th Grade)

Total orphan living with a step grandmother and two siblings.  Sister to Tobias Otieno and Brian Ochieng. Quinta is a bright, outspoken girl who loves math and English in school.  When Quinta is not cleaning, cooking, or fetching for firewood, she loves to sing in the church choir.  Quinta would like to become a nurse when she is older

Age: 20 years (Farmer after graduating)

Otieno is a half-orphaned child living with his mother (Rosalina) who is a volunteer mother. Otieno is the second child out of the 4 children in the family.  Otieno is a very articulate, outspoken child who is loves to read and write.  His favorite subjects in school are math and science but dream of becoming a lawyer.  When Otieno is not helping his mother around the house, he likes to play football with his friends.

Susan Adhiambo Odoyo
Age: 17 years (12th Grade)

Susan is a total-orphan who is currently living with Pamela and Duncan. Susan was adopted at a very young age and does not have any other siblings from her birth parents.  Susan’s favorite subjects in school are English and science and has dream of becoming a lawyer one day.  During Susan’s spare time, she likes to read, write, sing and play netball.

Victor Otieno Otina
Age: 18 years (12th Grade)

Victor is a partial orphan who is currently living with his older brother. Victor is the second to last born in his family.  Victor’s favorite subjects in school are math, English and science.  Victor wishes to become a doctor when he is older.  When victor is not in school, he help his family by fetching water, clean compound, read and play football with his friends. Omware Mixed-Day Secondary School.

Age: 18 years (Graduated 2014)

Calvince is a total orphan who is living with an uncle along with his HIV positive brother. His favorite subject in school is science and English. Calvins is a very active boy who loves to play football and sing in the church choir when he is not in school. He wishes to become a doctor when he is older.

Age: 17 years (Graduated 2013)

Lawrence is a Partial orphan living with vulnerable mother, and five siblings. Lawrence’s favorite subjects in school are social study, math, science and Swahili. He would like to be an airplane pilot when he grows up. On his spare time he likes to play football and loves drama and theater too. Very supportive of his mom and role model to his peers.

Age: 18 years (Graduated 2013)

Erick is a total orphan who is the last born in his family. Erick is currently living with his grandmother along with 3 other grandchildren.  Erick’s favorite subjects in school are social study and Swahili.  Erick would like to be an airplane pilot when he grows up. On his spare time he likes to play football with his friends.

Age: 17 years (Graduated 2013)

Jemimah is a vulnerable child living with the mother. She is the 4th born of seven. She loves reading story books as well as science studies and would like to be a nurse. She is currently in 10th grade. She enjoys looking after and playing with her younger sisters when she comes home.

Age: 17 years (12th Grade)

Faith is a total orphan who is currently living with her father’s second wife along with two other children in the house.  Faith is the youngest child from her birth mother.  Faith’s favorite subjects in school are Swahili, English, and social studies.  Faith would like to become a nurse when she grows up.  When Faith is not in school, she likes to read, sing and play netball with her friends. Kagoro girls high school.

Age: 17 years (12th Grade)

Total orphan living with his elderly grandmother. Erick’s favorite subject in school is science and English.  He is a very active boy who loves to play football and sing in the church choir when he is not in school.  He wishes to become a doctor one day.

Age: 17 years (Graduated 2013)

Total orphan living with a brother and his family, along with siblings Anthony Ochieng and Anna Aoko and 5 others. His favorite subjects Math, chemistry & physics and hopes to be a lawyer one day. Loves to help his big brother Samuel (21) with work and that helps with pocket money and to buy some books.

Beatrice Adhiambo Awuor
Age: 17 years (12th Grade)

Total orphan living with an aunt and uncle, along with siblings Benta Atieno and Christopher Odongo, and orphaned cousin Judith Atieno. Beatrice is a shy girl, but her favorite subject is science and would like to become a nurse.  Part-time resident of Dago Dela Hera Orphanage. she likes to play netball with her friends.

Kevin Otieno Obote 
Age: 18 years. (12th Grade)

Kevin is a half-orphaned child and is the older brother to Hilda Obote.  Kevin is the second child in the family and the mother has been struggling in making a living since his father past away 4 years ago.  Kevin’s favorite subjects in school are math, English and science.  Kevin would like to become a mechanic when he is older.  When Kevin is helping his mother tending the family cows, he likes to place football with his friends. He goes to Moi Nyatike Boys Secondary.

Age: 19 years (1st year Maseno Uni, rongo Branch- B.S in Education)

Oscar is a half-orphaned child who is the older brother to Faith Awuor Omolo.  Oscar is the 5th child to mother volunteer, Pricilla.  Oscar’s favorite subjects in school are math and science and has dream of becoming a lawyer.  During his spare time, Oscar loves to read, write, and play lots of football with his friends.

Age: 19 years (Early Childhood Community Teacher)

Vivian is a partial orphan who is currently staying with a step mother.  Vivian is the only child born never to see her mother. Vivian is a bright, outspoken girl who loves math and English in school.  When Vivian is not cleaning, cooking, or fetching for firewood, she loves to sing in the church choir.  Vivian would like to become a nurse when she is older.

Age: 18 years (1st year College B. Education)

Nancy is a half-orphaned child who is currently living with her mother, a volunteer to Dago Dala Hera (Pamela). Nancy is the 6th born in the family and is also sister to Cynthia.  Nancy’s favorite subjects in school are Swahili, social studies, and science.  She would like to become a nurse when she is older and also loves to play netball and sing in church choir on her spare time. She also loves to act, which she does in school.

Iskar Aoko Odhiambo
Age: 16 years (11th Grade)

Iscar is a total orphan whose parents were victims of HIV/AIDS.  Iscar’s father had 2 wives and was the last born of 2 children.  Iscar’s stepmother had 4 children and is currently living with an uncle.  Iscar is a very shy girl with a bright smile yet her favorite subject in school in science. Iscar would like to become a nurse when she grows up.  When Iscar is not in school she helps look after the cows, cook, and play net ball with her friends.

Earnest is a half-orphaned child who is currently living with his father.  He is the 4th child in a family of 6 children.  Ernest’s favorite subjects in school are math, science, and social studies.  He would like to become a Lawyer one day.  During Earnest’s spare time, he likes to read and play volleyball; football with his friends.

Age: 19 years (12th Grade)

Calvin is a total orphan who is currently living with his elder brother.  Calvin is the fifth child in a family of 8 children, and currently 5 siblings are living with the brother (second child).  Calvin’s favorite subjects in school are science, math, English, and social studies.  Calvin is inspired to become a doctor one day.  During Calvin’s spare time he likes to read, attend church services, and play football, volleyball with his friends. Kanyawanga High School.

 Age: 16 years (Dropped out)

Susan as you can see is very jovial and happy girl. She just joined 9th grade and loving it. She is the third born of six. She loves science studies; languages and would like to be a Lawyer. She enjoys cooking; and helping with the house chores.
